The music played by MOONDOG and his friends
on this CD was originally released on vinyl in the early 1950s as EPIC LG 1002. Moondog's
Corner is happy to present this great collector's item, as carefully restored and
remastered by Andreas Torkler at the Sonopress Studio in Gütersloh (Germany), for the
first time on CD in a complete edition -- now including the two Suites from Side B of the
vinyl.
And as a special bonus for all Moondog fans, Moondog's Corner has added in some
relatively new but hard to get selections of music by Moondog: In 1987, he American
musician Paul Jordan recorded LOGRUNDR XVIII in C-Sharp Minor for his solo organ CD,
"Buxtehude, Moondog and Co". FLEUR DE LIS was included by the young German harpist Xenia
Narati in 2005 on her debut album, "Moondog Sharp Harp". And, finally, SUN COLLECTOR IN
7/8 is an improvisation uniquely realized by Stefan Lakatos using Moondog's own
percussion instrument, the trimba.

A selection of 16 original „rounds“ by Moondog – American composer and legend – a.k.a Louis Hardin (1916-1999) -
recorded for the first time!
The Moondog trimba percussionist Stefan Lakatos and guitar player Andreas Heuser have produced an album of rounds
and canons by Moondog.
- Several tracks are orchestrated for acoustic and electric guitars and performed by Andreas Heuser.
- Featuring the unique and original sound of the Moondog percussion instrument: the trimba.
- 3 percussion tracks by Stefan Lakatos.
- Excerpts of the voice of Moondog - speaking to us from the past.
The song cycle „Orastorios" consisting of "Thor and the Midgard Serpent", "Hnossa" and "Out of the Mouth" –
was composed 1988 by Moondog especially for Stefan Lakatos. They are the longest and most complex 4-part vocal rounds
Louis Hardin Moondog has ever written. (The theme of "Out of the Mouth" is 64 bars long).
The CD also includes a 12 page booklet with a personal view on Moondog and his music, written by Stefan Lakatos.
